Information related to COVID regulations and travel restrictions

The administration of the competition will do everything possible to ensure that the competition takes place in person in Brussels.

However, for those pianists who wish to take part in the competition but unable to travel to Brussels due to problems related to COVID or political reasons (closure of borders) the competition will be organized online.

This way some of the candidates will play in person in Brussels, and some will present their recorded videos. The jury will be located at the venue of the competition (in the concert hall Piano’s Maene in Brussels) and judge performances in real time. The performance rounds will be broadcasted live on our YouTube channel.

After the pre-selection round, all necessary information regarding the online part of the competition will be provided to participants.

The situation will be re-analyzed in April 20th, 2022. If the Belgian government measures do not allow the event to be held in person in the venue of the competition in Brussels, then the 2022 edition of “Merci, Maestro!” will be organized entirely online for all participants. Practical details will be announced at that time.

Hope to see you all in Brussels!

With best regards,

Nataliya Chepurenko

Artistic Director and Founder of the Competition
